Analisis Kinerja dan Koordinasi Waktu Sinyal Dua Simpang Berdekatan di Kota Cimahi

Traffic congestion in urban areas has become a crucial issue, particularly at strategic intersections without a traffic signal management system. This study aims to evaluate the existing performance of the Citeureup and Cidahu intersections in Kota Cimahi and assess the performance of implementing coordinated signal systems between intersections. Methods used include field surveys to obtain primary data such as traffic volume, vehicle speed, and queue length, along with secondary data from relevant agencies. Analysis was conducted using the 1997 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI 1997) approach and microscopic simulation with PTV VISSIM software. The results indicate that the existing conditions at both intersections experience high saturation degrees with queue lengths (261.88 - 40.751 metres) and delays (89.35 - 28.651 seconds). After implementing signal coordination, the saturation degree decreased to 24–29%, and the average delay was reduced by 22–32%. The use of microscopic simulation has proven to be an effective method for planning and evaluating traffic elements in urban roads. For long-term development, the integration of signal systems with adaptive technology-based traffic control centers can be implemented to enhance responsiveness to constantly changing traffic dynamics.
