Authorship Criteria

Jurnal Teknik follows the authorship criteria recommended by COPE and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Every person listed as an author must meet all four of the following criteria:

  1. Substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
  2. Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
  3. Approval of the final version to be published;
  4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, including ensuring that questions about its accuracy or integrity are investigated and resolved.

Contributors who do not meet all criteria (e.g., those who only provided funding, general supervision, technical assistance, data collection without analysis, or language editing) must be listed in the Acknowledgment section, not as authors.

Corresponding author. The corresponding author communicates with the journal on behalf of all authors, ensures that all co-authors have approved the submitted and final versions, and confirms that all listed authors meet the criteria above.

Author order. The order of authors is a joint decision of all co-authors and must be agreed before submission.

Changes to authorship. Adding, removing, or reordering authors after submission requires a written request from the corresponding author explaining the reason, signed by all authors (including any author being removed). Changes are not accepted after the article has been accepted for publication, except in exceptional cases approved by the Editor-in-Chief.

Unacceptable practices. Ghost authorship (omitting a person who meets the criteria), gift or honorary authorship (listing a person who does not meet the criteria), and the sale or purchase of authorship are considered research misconduct.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors (see the AI Policy).

Author identifiers. All authors are encouraged, and corresponding authors are required, to provide an ORCID iD.

Contribution statement. Articles with more than one author should include a short author contribution statement (e.g., using the CRediT taxonomy) before the References section.
