- Supports editors in handling misconduct, corrections, and retractions, and in communicating with other journals and institutions.
- Protects intellectual property in line with the Copyright and License policies.
- Does not accept advertising, sponsorship, or marketing that could influence editorial decisions. Any future advertising will be clearly separated from editorial content.
4. Duties of the Editor-in-Chief
- Sets the journal’s scope, publication frequency, and policies, and publishes them for authors, reviewers, and readers.
- Appoints the editorial board and defines the roles of the publisher, editors, and reviewers.
- Takes final responsibility for publication decisions, based on the work’s validity, its importance to researchers and readers, reviewer reports, and legal requirements on defamation, copyright, and plagiarism.
- Ensures confidentiality for authors, reviewers, and editors.
- Ensures timely publication and continuous quality improvement.
- Handles complaints, appeals, and misconduct allegations following COPE guidance, and publishes corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.
- Reviews the journal’s ethics policies at least every [two] years.
5. Duties of Editors
- Fair play: evaluate manuscripts solely on intellectual content, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, institutional affiliation, or political views.
- Confidentiality: disclose information about a manuscript only to the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
- Conflicts of interest: recuse themselves from manuscripts where they have a conflict. Editors must not use unpublished material in their own research without the author’s written consent.
- Editorial board submissions: manuscripts from the Editor-in-Chief or board members are handled by an editor without a conflict and reviewed by external reviewers only. Board members must not access the review of their own manuscripts. Articles by board members should not exceed [20]% of the articles in any issue.
- Objectivity: make decisions without favoring their own views, those of authors, or those of third parties, and support freedom of scientific opinion.
- Sensitive content: ensure that published articles contain no defamatory content and no content that incites hostility or discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, race, or inter-group relations. Controversial articles are referred to the Editor-in-Chief.
- No citation coercion: never require authors to cite the journal or the editors’ own work as a condition of acceptance.
- Ethics education: encourage authors to improve their work to a publishable standard and support education on publication ethics.
6. Duties of Reviewers
- Contribution to decisions: assist the editor in making decisions and help authors improve manuscripts through objective, unbiased, written feedback.
- Promptness: decline promptly if they lack the expertise or cannot meet the deadline.
- Confidentiality: treat manuscripts as confidential. Reviewers must not share manuscripts, contact authors directly, or upload manuscript content to generative AI tools.
- Objectivity: assess clarity, completeness, relevance, and fit with the journal’s scope, without personal criticism of the authors.
- Acknowledgment of sources: point out relevant uncited work, and inform the editor of substantial overlap with published work or suspected data or image manipulation.
- Conflicts of interest: decline manuscripts where they have competitive, collaborative, or personal relationships with the authors or their institutions.
- No citation coercion: never request citations to their own work unless clearly relevant and scientifically justified.
7. Duties of Authors
- Reporting standards: present an accurate account of original work and an objective discussion of its significance. Fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, are unacceptable.
- Originality and acknowledgment of sources: properly cite all statements, ideas, and data that are not the authors’ own results.
- Multiple, redundant, or concurrent publication: do not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at a time, or publish work already published elsewhere. Splitting one study into several minimal papers (“salami slicing”) is not acceptable.
- Preprints and theses: posting a preprint or including results in a thesis or dissertation does not count as prior publication. Authors must disclose this at submission and add a link to the published article once available.
- Authorship: list only those who meet the Authorship Criteria. The corresponding author ensures all co-authors approved the final version.
- Data access and retention: state data availability, provide raw data on request during review, and retain data for at least [five] years after publication.
- Image and data integrity: do not enhance, obscure, move, remove, or introduce specific features in images or graphs. Adjustments to brightness, contrast, or color are acceptable only if applied to the whole image and if they do not misrepresent the original data.
- Ethical oversight: research involving human participants, animals, or personal data requires approval from an appropriate ethics committee, which must be named in the article. Informed consent must be obtained from human participants. Personal data must be handled in line with Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection.
- Disclosure: disclose all funding sources, conflicts of interest, and any use of generative AI tools (see the AI Policy).
- Citation practice: cite sources only where relevant. Excessive self-citation and citation agreements between authors (“citation cartels”) are considered misconduct.
- Responsibility to the public: ensure the article does not cause conflict with particular parties or disturb public order.
- Fundamental errors: promptly notify the editor of significant errors in published work and cooperate in correcting or retracting it.

9. Complaints
Complaints about the journal’s editorial process, policies, or staff may be sent in writing to the Editor-in-Chief at martijanti@lecture.unjani.ac.id. Complaints are acknowledged within 7 working days and resolved, where possible, within 30 days. Complaints that cannot be resolved internally may be referred to COPE.
